In conjunction with the Istana 150 Commemorative Event, members of the public will be given an opportunity to enter the Istana for the first time at night, the President’s Office revealed on Thursday (12 September).
The event, which commemorates the heritage site’s 150th anniversary, will be hosted by President Halimah Yacob and her husband Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee on 6 October.
For those who make their way to the Istana on that day, they will be able to witness an array of great live performances as well as a scintillating lightshow. The lightshow will illustrate the Istana’s history and heritage, and will be displayed on the building’s main facade.
The Istana was completed on 8 October 1869, and it is one of Singapore’s oldest heritage sites.
As for the live performances, public will be treated to a number of amazing shows by renowned artists like 53A, Clement Chow, Rahimah Rahim and MICapella, as well as acts by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
This is a ticketed event and the public can apply for it starting today (13 September) at 10am through the event website. Tickets for Singaporeans and permanent residents are priced at S$12, and S$20 for non-Singaporeans.
If that’s not all, there will also be three available time slots for the visitors – 8.15pm, 8.25pm and 9.15pm.
All proceeds of the event will be donated to charity through the President’s Challenge.
Since the beginning of this year, a series of events and activities has been planned out to commemorate the 150th anniversary, including the Our Istana: A Living Museum roving exhibition and the launch of commemorative souvenirs like medallions and Istana models made solely with Lego bricks.

欲向关爱动物研究教育协会捐款,可进入到give.asia/acrescharitygala进行捐款。
