The train commuters along the East West Line (EWL) experienced delay in their morning commute on Wednesday (3 July) due to a platform screen door fault at Dover MRT station and started about 7:30am. This is according to the information posted on social media platforms as the service operator, SMRT did not post any information on the incident.
On TATA SMRT Facebook, information about the fault dan delay was posted by the commuters and their friends:

Nur Azlinawaty Abdul Rahman wrote at 7:37am: “7.35am: Announcement for train fault somewhere on the E-W line heading to the City/Joo Koon heard at 7Tanah Merah MRT. Train delay of at least 5-8 mins expected.”

Paul Lee wrote at 8:31am: “Platform screen door fault on EWL eastwards at Dover. Delays expected. From a friend of mine.”

Tommy Soon replied to Paul Lee at 8:33am: “I heard station boarding the same thing on their PA system.”

And also Aaron Tan wrote at 8:42am: “Yeah i heard boon lay going to bouna vista trains will delay by 10 mins.”

At 9:14am the Admin of TATA SMRT Facebook informed an update:

Alan Charles Yap wrote at 9:14am: “UPDATE ON PSD FAULT AT DOVER EB PLATFORM”

“Due to PSD fault on Dover EB platform, all EWL eastbound services will NOT stop at Dover station for passenger activities. Passengers are advised to travel to Buona Vista station and reboard the westbound service back to Dover.”

“Expect additional travel time.”

“No reported PSD fault at Dover WB Tuas Link bound platform. Updates to follow.”

A passenger answered to Alen Yap at 10:18am informing that the fault has been fixed:

Kitaro Kawasaki Twoosixtwo wrote at 10:18am: “As of 1012hrs, my train is making stops at Dover. Issues has been fixed.”

SMRT, the EWL train service provider, did not give official information on its social media platforms and many passengers voiced their complaints on the Twitter platform:
