A video recently emerged showing an MRT commuter sharing his phone with a little girl to watch a cartoon together during their commute, and it’s probably the most heartwarming thing on the Internet right now.

The video capturing the adorable scene was uploaded on Twitter yesterday night (27 May) by the daughter of the super-friendly man, with the caption: “My father befriended a tiny human in the train today. They’re watching Tom & Jerry. ??”

The video has gone viral since it was posted, melting hearts across the Internet. At the time of writing, the video has garnered more than 40,000 likes and 20,000 retweets.

In the 21-second video, the man can be seen holding his phone out while the girl watches the cartoon with fascination.

The wide smile and constant giggles by the girl clearly exhibits how much she enjoyed herself with her newfound friend, watching Tom & Jerry together on the MRT.

Likewise, the man seems to share the similar sentiments, as he endearingly entertained the girl.

With so much happening in Singapore and other parts of the world right now, it can be somewhat difficult to think of this world as anything but a miserable place.

However, every now and then, something magical like this happens that makes us realise that there is still hope and affection in humanity after all.

It’s not the biggest gesture in the world, but it is a heartwarming and beautiful moment that shows what a huge difference a small random act of kindness can make.

Editor’s note – Oops. Apologies for having mistaken the gender of the toddler previously. We have clarified that the adorable toddler is a girl, not a boy.
