In a Facebook post on Sunday (12 May) afternoon, the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society – Singapore (ACRES) shared a heart-warming story of a wild piglet named ‘Little Pearl’ whom they recently rescued.

The little piglet was said to be sheltering from a thunderstorm for one whole night in a toilet cubicle at a country club in Singapore.

Little Pearl apparently strayed a little too far from her parents and got separated from her family when they were trying to seek shelter from the thunderstorm.

Fortunately, Little Pearl made her way to a toilet cubicle at a country club and spent the night curled up there.

The next morning, a country club staff spotted Little Pearl in the corner of the cubicle and proceeded to alert ACRES.

The wildlife rescue team then picked Little Pearl up.

Subsequently, Little Pearl was given a physical health check and later released back into the neighbouring forested area.

All together in 3-2-1… awwwww!

Now, did Little Pearl’s endearing story touch your heart as it did to ours? Well, here’s a chance for you to express those sentiments into action and make a difference to the wildlife in Singapore.

ACRES are currently raising funds to support the operational cost of their wildlife team through their annual Charity Gala.

Their wildlife team of eight – consisting of animal care givers, veterinarian, and rescue officers – work hard to ensure the animals who come to and through the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre get the best they deserve – just like Little Pearl.

However, these rescue operations do come with some expense; hence, the non-profit organisation is looking for any contributions from the public.
