A week after a police report had been made against a woman who ran away with the one-day earnings of a blind lady, the police have finally arrested the thief.

This news first came to light after a netizen named Jessica Vincent took to her Facebook account on Wednesday (1 May) to share this robbery incident which happened at Yishun MRT underground towards the Northpoint at around 7.20pm.

Ms Vincent told TOC that she was only aware of the incident after hearing the blind woman crying for help and went to find out what had happened.

She later found out that the visually impaired woman was robbed by another woman clad in a red T-shirt. However, she did not manage to catch the alleged thief as she arrived quite late at the scene.

Thankfully, another good samaritan, a Chinese woman in her 50s, was able to give the thief a chase, but sadly was unsuccessful in nabbing her. But, she managed to take a picture of the thief, which was shared by Ms Vincent in her Facebook post.

Following the robbery, Ms Vincent pointed out that she had made a police report and the police has responded and said that they will look into this case and “try their best” to catch the culprit.

Thankfully, just a week later (8 May), the police announced that they have arrested the alleged 64-year-old thief at Woodlands Street 12. If convicted, she may face up to three years of jail, fine or both.

Ms Vincent shared with TOC that she has not been updated by the police about the arrest but is glad that they managed to nab the thief.
