Dr Lee Weiling has come out with yet another explosive evidence supporting the allegations made by her and her brother Mr Lee Hsien Yang regarding their elder brother Mr Lee Hsien Loong’s purported deception in the drafting of their father Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s final will of 17 Dec 2013.

In a Facebook post on Tue (30 Apr), Dr Lee wrote that Mr LHL, who is also the Prime Minister of Singapore, has “repeatedly alleged” that her sister-in-law, Mrs Lee Suet Fern – who is the wife of Mr LHY – had “prepared and somehow got our father to sign a will in December 2013”.

She also alleged that Ms Kwa Kim Li of Lee & Lee, the niece of the late Mr Lee’s wife Ms Kwa Geok Choo, “has been lying” about not being involved in the events leading up to the preparation of the founding prime minister’s last will.

Dr Lee also charged that Ms Kwa “has also breached her duties” to the late Mr LKY as his lawyer, as seen in an email between Ms Kwa and Mr LKY posted by Dr Lee.

In the email correspondence, Ms Kwa allegedly noted that Mr LKY wanted to sign a codicil to change his previous arrangement to provide an additional share for Dr Lee in an arrangement where all three of the Lee siblings will get an equal share. She had also allegedly mentioned that she will have the codicil prepared for him to sign when he is ready.

“Lee & Lee have always been lawyers for my father’s personal matters including all his wills, powers of attorney, and Advance Medical Directives including his affirmation in August 2014 of his AMD.

“The truth is that my father had discussed the changes he wanted extensively with KKL before he signed his December 2013 will. From late November 2013 all the way till Friday 13 December 2013, my father had had discussions and exchanged emails with KKL of Lee & Lee on what he wanted in his will. These included discussions of his immediately prior will.

“The will my father signed on Tuesday 17 December 2013 reflected these prior discussions with his lawyer KKL. It was exactly what he wanted. It provided for equal shares for all the children, something he had agreed with our mother and all of us,” said Dr Lee.

Dr Lee also indicated that there “are more” of such emails to come.

Previously, Ms Kwa told The Straits Times and CNA that she did not prepare the last will.

Mr LHY has also shared the post made by his sister on Tue, as seen below:

Lee Wei Ling defends Mrs Lee against “dishonest allegations of cheating”, notes that Mrs Lee had instead assisted in reinstating Dr Lee’s rights to the late Lee Kuan Yew’s estate

Earlier this year on 9 Jan, Dr Lee, the late Mr LKY’s only daughter, drew attention to the AGC’s repetition of “dishonest allegations of cheating” made against Mrs Lee in their 500-paged submission to the Law Society.

Her original post in June 2017, which she had referred to in her 9 Jan post, refuted the AGC’s allegations against Mrs Lee, stating that Mr LHL and his wife Ho Ching had “selectively” quoted Dr Lee out of context “to suggest that Hsien Yang and his wife were trying to cheat me in our father’s final will”.

She added: “I had much earlier and repeatedly made clear to Hsien Loong and Ho Ching the truth that there was no duplicity by Hsien Yang and his wife, Suet Fern.

“He continues to repeat a position that I have both clarified and discredited as a smokescreen to obscure the key point that Lee Kuan Yew’s his final will of 17 December 2013 is in the same terms as his will of 19 August 2011, including the demolition clause, exactly as our father had intended.

“After that will of 19 August 2011, Hsien Loong and Ho Ching were unhappy that I had been given a right to live at the original house at 38 Oxley Road.

“They pushed and persuaded my father very hard on this issue. This eventually resulted in 2012 in my losing my right to stay in the house and my share of my father’s estate being reduced to only a life interest,” she lamented.

Dr Lee highlighted that it was her sister-in-law Mrs Lee, who is a lawyer herself, who had “interceded” in a dispute with Mr Lee Kuan Yew on Dr Lee’s behalf when PM Lee and Ho Ching were overseas.

“She met with Lee Kuan Yew and made a case that since I was his only daughter and was unmarried, it was particularly important that he provide for me rather than reduce my interest in his estate,” said Dr Lee, adding that Mr Lee Kuan Yew “did reinstate me and gave me an extra 1/7 share as a result”.

“Hsien Yang and his wife were never informed of this extra share and continued to worry that I should be fairly treated and have a right to live in the house,” she noted.

The two younger siblings of PM Lee have been embroiled in the high-profile dispute over the 38 Oxley Road home with their elder brother since 2017, in which Mr Lee and Dr Lee had both accused PM Lee of leveraging his position as Prime Minister against the demolition of the old property at 38 Oxley Road, leading to a Parliamentary debate and a ministerial statement by PM Lee on the issue.

PAP and WP: Who is checking who?

Augustine Low argues that the Workers’ Party (WP) in Singapore, known for its role in checking the People’s Action Party (PAP), now finds itself under scrutiny. Following the 2020 general election, the PAP has shifted the focus onto the WP’s proposals and ideas, painting them as inconsistent, opportunistic, and lacking concrete alternatives. Low suggests that the WP must risk more and be more confrontational, potentially losing battles but ultimately winning the war for the support of Singaporeans.
