被移走猫咪一死一失踪 马林百列市镇会道歉

经常在马林台出没的两只社区猫,被马林百列市镇理事会丢弃到港湾地铁站附近小贩中心后失踪了。心急网友在脸书上悬赏寻找,却发现其中一只猫死亡,另一只仍下落不明。市镇会对此事件道歉。

爱猫人士Snowy Tan于周三(27日)在脸书上贴文,指经常出没在马林台的两只猫 Ben Ben和Leng Leng,于本月8日,被马利百列市镇会和害虫公司诱捕,之后被丢弃在离家十几里远的声音小贩中心(Seah Im Food Centre)。两只猫也无法找到回家的路。

她批评,市镇会和害虫公司,往往残酷地将猫丢到不易觅食、且车流量高的地方。“很多本地人告诉我们,有很多猫被丢到港湾,往往之后就失踪,有的可能已死掉。”

文中指出,其中一只猫Ben Ben已经被发现,在港湾一带死亡,而另一只猫Leng Leng还未寻获。

市镇会曾否认涉及

她也指出,市镇会当初并不承认他们残酷行为,一直到另一名女士去拜访议员后才承认。市镇会也在数天后,经过爱猫人士持续的“电话攻击”,才不情愿地透露了丢弃猫咪的地点。

事后,网民前往声音小贩中心寻找猫咪,但是两只猫咪都不见踪影。网民甚至急着在脸书上贴文,悬赏200元找猫。

马林百列市镇会在受询及此事件时表示,他们为工作人员在重新安置猫咪方面的“判断错误”道歉,并坦承理应把猫咪交给农粮局。

将与二机构协商处理方式

市镇会表示,他们将会和猫福利协会(Cat Welfare Society)和农粮局联手,指导职员如何正确处理动物相关问题。

他们也指出,自2016年开始,已经接到45件有关猫咪的投诉。

这些投诉反映组屋区有约15只猫咪到处游走,引起许多,如到处大小便、脱毛、吵闹的卫生和干扰课题。

“我们曾多次通知一名居民,不要在组屋单位里养太多猫咪,不要让猫在组屋到处走动,影响其他居民。”

但是,情况并没有改变。

市镇会表示,目前猫福利协会已经知晓有关的情况,并且会采取行动,教导饲主有关饲养宠物应负起的责任。
