POCARI SWEAT, the isotonic beverage developed by Japan’s Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (OPC) today announced the partnership with Singapore Athletics (SA) at a joint press conference ahead of the 81st Singapore Open Track and Field Championships.

Underpinned by their corporate philosophy of improving the quality of health worldwide, POCARI SWEAT has been in the forefront of major sports events in the region, including the 2018 Asian Games, and most recently announcing the Gold Tier Sponsorship for the 2019 SEA Games in Philippines.

As an Official Isotonic Sponsor of Singapore Athletics, POCARI SWEAT aims to accentuate their support in the region, and continue advocating the importance of a healthy lifestyle within the local community through SA’s athletes, coaches and youth, in hopes that this knowledge is passed on to generations to come.

The brand was the Official Partner of the two time SEA Games champion, Soh Rui Yong as he broke the 23-year national men’s marathon record at Seoul Marathon 2019, of which POCARI SWEAT was the Official Event Hydration Sponsor. Likewise, POCARI SWEAT backed marathon runner Neo Jie Shi at the Seoul Marathon 2016, and her journey leading up to the 2016 Olympic Games, where she became the first Singaporean since Yvonne Danson to represent Singapore in the marathon event.

Under the partnership, POCARI SWEAT will provide hydration support for SA official and youth events, and organise workshops to educate the SA community on proper hydration practices. In addition, in hopes of inspiring the new generation of Singapore athletic stars, POCARI SWEAT will also champion local SA athletes including Shanti Pereira (sprinter), Michelle Sng (high jumper), and Ang Chen Xiang (hurdler), in which they will front the new branding wall for the Kallang Practice Track, the high-performance facility for the national athletics athletes.

“At POCARI SWEAT, we believe in creating an impact that will help build a long-lasting benefit to the health of a community, and hence we are pleased to partner with Singapore Athletics. We hope that we are able to motivate Singapore’s local athletic athletes and support their journey towards some of their major competitions,” commented Ms. Puspita Winawati, Country Manager of POCARI SWEAT Singapore.

POCARI SWEAT will support the 81st Singapore Open Track and Field Championships, held at the Singapore Sports Hub and the Home of Athletics on the 28th and 29th of March 2019.
