The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Peoples’ Association Active Ageing Council (PAAAC) are currently looking for Singaporeans or PRs aged 50 and above to sign up as the “Silver Infocomm Wellness Ambassadors” (SIWAs).

They are looking for seniors who are recognised for their active IT lifestyle and have a passion to inspire and encourage their peers to take up IT. The job is to help fellow seniors go digital.

The person need to have “a passion for e-lifestyle, actively using technology in his/her daily life, and have shown significant effort in learning/teaching/sharing technology knowledge with others”.

The online advertisement said, “These silver-haired tech-savvy active agers have shared and imparted their IT-knowledge and expertise to their peers at many community platforms to help them become digitally ready and reap the benefits that technology brings.”

Strangely, the job advertisement also said the person must be willing to be “interviewed, photographed, make public appearances or undertake other activities for publicity or outreach purposes as Silver Infocomm Wellness Ambassadors”.

He or she must participate at events organised by IMDA or PAAAC to share IT experience through “talks at events, interviews or filming opportunities, where applicable”.

And in return to help IMDA and PA in their publicity, the senior would receive a $100 voucher.

The nominations for SIWA is now open till 16 June 2019 and interested seniors who are aged 50 and above can sign up at https://www.imda.gov.sg/SIWA2019 for a chance to become an “ambassador”.
