On Monday late afternoon (11 March) train commuters experienced more than two hours delay along the East West Line. The delay was caused by Platform Screen Door (PSD) fault at the Lakeside Station for the East Bound trains.
SMRT announced an official information about the delay on its Tweeter platform about an hour later after the delay occurred, while passengers started to complain on Tweeter since 4:12pm:
smrt always finds a way to fuck up when it rains like girl u ever heard of competency ??????

Darryl Kang’s tweet mentioned the PSD fault at Lakeside Station and informed that SMRT had deployed staff at every door for crowd control:
Looks like SMRT also having some problems due to the heavy rain. Platform doors at Lakeside MRT can’t close. But amazing that SMRT managed to deploy staff at every door for crowd control.

At 5:26pm SMRT tweeted its information on the delay, asking for 15 minutes additional travel time:
[EWL]: Due to a platform screen door fault at #Lakeside towards #PasirRis, commuters are advised to add 15 mins train travel time from #JooKoon to #Lakeside.

On TATA SMRT Facebook, information about the EWL train delay were also posted:
Yong Jian Rong wrote at 4:40pm: “Platform screen door fault at Lakeside MRT. Additional 10min travelling time between Tuas Link and Jurong East.”
Yong Jian Rong added at 4:44pm: “Eastbound platform screen doors not in use.”
Shawn Hong Jun Jie wrote at 5:09pm: ‘Lakeside Station (EW26) having PSD door fault for the East Bound (towards City, Pasir Ris, Changi Airport).
Certain trains going towards East Bound may not be able to open door for passengers to alight, have to take to EW25 to take opposite direction.
To add on, slow approach (< 10km/h) when approaching the station for east bound, please cater for additional travelling time . — 1700 hrs 11 March 2019.”
Aaron Tan commented to Shawn Hong Jun Jie’s post; he wrote at 5:27pm: “Somehow, you are faster than SMRT’s own Twitter announcement by 14 mins.”
Alan Charles Yap, the Admin of Tata SMRT Facebook, added his comments; he wrote at 5:33pm: “That’s why TATA SMRT provides REAL time updates as opposed to the official channels “real time” updates.”
And Shawn Hong Jun Jie replied: “Because TATA SMRT is a community effort.” 🙂
At 5:57pm Alan Charles Yap informed: “Update @ 17:54: PSD at EW26 Lakeside is normalized. Service ambassadors and SMRT engineering staff are at scene to monitor the situation.”
And at 6:03pm SMRT also tweeted that the platform screen door fault has been rectified. Normal train services have resumed:
[EWL] CLEARED: Platform screen door fault has been rectified. Normal train services have resumed. We are sorry for affecting your journey.
