1,014 general practitioner (GP) clinics will be open during the Lunar New Year public holidays from 4 to 6 February 2019, at various times, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced in a press release on Friday (1 February).

The ministry said, “We encourage members of the public who feel unwell during the festivities to visit their GP or a 24-hour clinic for conditions that are neither life-threatening nor serious.”

“We advise the public to seek medical treatment at a hospital’s Accident & Emergency (A&E) department only for serious emergencies, such as chest pain, breathlessness, and uncontrollable bleeding,” it added.

The ministry noted that the information is accurate as of 1 February 2019 and advised members of the public to contact the GP clinics to check that they are open before visiting.
