Singapore’s veteran actor-actress husband and wife, Lim Kay Siu and Neo Swee Lin, sang a satirical Christmas song mocking the Central Provident Fund (CPF) during a recent event and a video of it was posted on Ms Neo’s Facebook page.

In the video, the two are seen playing ukuleles while singing the lyrics to the song.

They were both performing at a Christmas and New Year Party organised by Function 8 held at Agora.

In her post, she wrote, “Sing along! Can change Christmas to New Year, birthday, song for all occasions, to be sung all year long (till u get sued..).”

The celebrity couple started singing the peppy song by telling that all they want for Christmas is their CPF as they can’t seem to see the money. The song lyrics also added that the government raised the retirement age and forced them to pay for MediShield. Questioning the need to do so while the government keeps all the surplus from the people.

It appears that the couple created this new lyrics after the case of an elderly man who was only paid S$4.50 for his post-subsidy bill was published by the media.

Read the lyrics below:

[G]ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY [A7]CPF, [D7]MY CPF, WHERE’S MY [G]CPF!
THEY PLAYED ME OUT BY KEEPING ALL MY [C]CPF
SO [D7]I CAN’T HAVE A MERRY [G]CHRISTMAS
IT [C]SEEMS SO LONG SINCE I COULD SEE
[G]ALL MY MONEY [D7]]IN MY OWN [G]POSSESSION [B7] [Em]THEY PROMISED ME MY RETIREMENT FUND
NOW [A7] I CAN’T EVEN [D] QUESTION [D7] [G]ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY [A7]CPF, [D7]MY CPF, WHERE’S MY [G]CPF!
THEY PLAYED ME OUT BY KEEPING ALL MY [C]CPF
SO [D7]I CAN’T HAVE A MERRY [G]CHRISTMAS
THEY RAISE AND RAISE THE RETIREMENT AGE
AND FORCE US TO PAY FOR MEDISHIELD
WHAT’S THE POINT IF THEY KEEP IT ALL
NO MATTER WHAT THE YIELD
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY CPF, MY CPF, WHERE’S MY CPF
GEE IF I COULD ONLY HAVE MY CPF
THEN I COULD WISH YOU MERRY CHRISTMAS X2
