A track fault is said to have caused train service disruptions on Monday (31 Dec) morning along the North South Line (NSL). Ending the year with another train delay, SMRT did not offer any official information about the incident.

Affected commuters posts information about the delay on TATA SMRT Facebook platform since 6:34am:

Lim Kian Koon wrote at 6:34am: “On Norh South train now. Announcement in train that Ang Mo Kio is having a track fault and add 5 more mins to trip…”

Wayne Chew wrote at 6:35am: “Track fault on NSL between AMK – Bishan. Please add additional 10 mins between this stretch.”

Jacob Lee wrote at 7:45am: “On board train between AMK and Bishan train is very slow sign board posts mention additional 10 mins.”

Jerald Tay wrote at 8:28am: “Track fault at AMK, please +10 minutes for journeys from YCK to Bishan. – heard it over the PA as at 0816 hrs, Bishan station.”

Alan Chow wrote at 9:12am: “Due to a track fault near Ang Mo Kio. Pls add additional 10 mins travelling time from Yio Chu Kang to Bishan stns 31 Dec 2018 (New Yr eve) Monday 9am approx.” He also shared a photo:

However, Alan Chow added that travel speed from Jurong East to Yew Tee was quite fast:

Three hours since the beginning of the delay SMRT still gave no official information about the NSL train disruption and a commuter complained about it:

There was no other post made about the delay after 9:33am.
