President of the Republic of Chile Sebastián Piñera and Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau will be visiting Singapore at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, to attend the 33rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits as Guests of the ASEAN Chair.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a press release on Tuesday 13 November.
The ministry stated that President Piñera and Prime Minister Trudeau will attend a working lunch hosted by Prime Minister Lee for ASEAN Leaders and Guests of the ASEAN Chair, with the theme of “Free Trade and the Global Economy” on 14 November 2018, as well as the Gala Dinner on the same evening.
On Wednesday, President Piñera and Prime Minister Trudeau will have meetings with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on and separately call on President Halimah Yacob at the Istana on Thursday
President Piñera will visit the country from 14 to 16 November 2018, and will be accompanied by senior government officials and a business delegation.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Trudeau is visiting Singapore from 13 to 16 November 2018, and will be accompanied by Minister of International Trade Diversification James Gordon Carr and senior government officials. During his visit, Prime Minister Trudeau will also participate in the Singapore FinTech Festival.
Both leaders are visiting Singapore for the first time in their respective capacities.
