A train service disruption occurred on the East West Line (EWL) this morning (18 Sep), said to be caused by a platform screen door (PSD) fault at Jurong East MRT station, affecting Eastbound train services.

Simon Lee wrote a post of the slow moving train from Jurong to Pasir Ris on TATA SMRT Facebook at 8:21am, but he had initially assumed to be due to a track fault:

Simon Lee at 8:21am There is a track fault along EW line. Train moving slow from Jurong to Pasir Ris direction. Not sure if opposite direction affected.

Five minutes later John Robert Lee informed on the same Facebook platform, sharing a tweet from MRT Singapore Service Information, that the delay was caused by a platform screen door fault:

John Robert Lee wrote at 8:26am: “There was a PSD Failure at JE Eastbound. Earlier on was a Faulty Train. Please seek alternate transport as JE Eastbound platform is heavily congested and the next Eastbound train had just pulled in.”

At 8:44 Charlene Liu also posted about the PSD fault at Jurong East, and updated that a train at Chinese Garden has asked all passengers to alight:

Charlene Liu at 8:44am wrote: “Platform screen doors fault at JE apparently. Previously announced 10 mins additional travelling time. Now 15 mins already. Update: one train at Chinese Garden has just asked all passengers to alight.”

And other passengers informed and complained about the delay on the Twitter media platform:
