Horyou, the social network for social good, and Horyou Foundation is organising its fifth edition of the Social Innovation and Global Ethics Forum, SIGEF, at Suntec, Singapore on September 12-13.

SIGEF 2018 is set to bring together a multi-stakeholder audience of investors, a high-level network of business and company executives, government and ministerial representatives, non-profit and international organizations, as well as a wide spectrum of important changemakers across the globe. Being its premiere edition in the ASEAN region, the forum will be expecting a high-level delegation of crypto and impact investors coming from Japan.

Opening remarks of the event will be made by Switzerland Ambassador to Singapore, H.E Fabrice Filliez, Asian influencer, investor and founder of SRS Fintech Commerce (SFC), Kazuhiro Hisata, and founder and CEO of Horyou, Yonathan Parienti.

Entrepreneurs, innovators, and thought leaders will cover topics on disruptive trends focusing on future developments as a result of interconnected societies worldwide.

The first panel, “Smart Cities and the Future of Technology” will look at the disruptive trends in technology that could support a more sustainable ecosystem of life, such as Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Damian Tan, Visionary Investors and Managing Director of Vickers Venture Partners and OhmniLabs’ CEO and co-founder Thuc Vu, an expert in Artificial Intelligence and Algorithms will share their insights in that session. Participants in the panel will include Teymoor Nabili, journalist and TV anchor at Channel News Asia, Andy Sim, Director of Digital Innovation at National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, Jan Ondrus, Associate Professor of Information Systems, Decision Sciences and Statistics at ESSEC Pacific, Kavita Sinha, General Manager-India Region/Director of Technology – Silver Spring Networks, Singapore, and Natalie Doran, Digital Marketing Director at Timetech, a blockchain platform.

The second panel will pertain to “Fintech and Blockchain For Good” to boost sustainable development and maximize positive societal impact. Participants will be influential Asian entrepreneurs such as Kazuhiro Hisata, founder of SRS Fintech Commerce (SFC), who will be joined by Yonathan Parienti founder of the HoryouToken, a utility token supporting economic inclusion and the Sustainable Development Goals implementation of United Nations, and Kenneth Bok, founder of Blocks, a blockchain think-tank. A plenary will feature Chan Sik Ahn, Partner at HMP Law, and Karen New, speaker, author and initial coin offering advisor.

The third panel, “SDGs: a Framework for a Better Future,” will assess the advancement of the SDGs and cover the improvements resulting from the implementation of the SDG agenda in the business and financial sectors. A plenary will include speakers Arndt Husar, former UNDP Deputy Director from Singapore, Mikkel Larsen, Chief Sustainability Officer of DBS,, Simon JD Schillebeeckx, Assistant Professor  of Strategy and Innovation at Singapore Management University, Prasanna Da Silva, Director APAC at World Vision, and Noriko Mitsui, Philanthropist, entrepreneur and Horyou Ambassador in Japan.

The SDG session will also hold a panel advocating Gender Equality and Diversity, which will be moderated by Teymoor Nabili, with the participation of  Josie Ho, singer and actress from Hong Kong, Arielle Kitio, founder and CEO of Caysti, a collaboration platform for small business owners globally, Stephanie Dickson, founder of Green is the New Black, and Hayden Majajas, Head of Diversity and Inclusion APAC at Bloomberg. The session will benefit from the participation of Miriam Feiler who shall introduce the audience to bizzi.com.

The fourth session, “MedTech: Disruptive Health Innovations for Inclusive Care,” will feature a discussion relating to the medical technology space. It will examine opportunities for collaboration for the public and private sector to build more inclusive medical and healthcare systems. Panelists will include, among others venture capitalists, Ro Charlz, VP of Vickers Venture Partners, social entrepreneur Ondrej Vrabel, CEO and Founder of Pinf Hry, Dr. Prem Pillay, Neurosurgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Emerson Gale, international music education entrepreneur specializing in sound ecotherapy, psychologist Maria Guzman, Executive Board member of Fundacion Somos Vida, and Dr Lindsay Wu, Chief Scientific Advisor & co-founder Life Biosciences.

The panel on impact investment, “Impact Investment: Merging Social Impact with Financial Returns for Good,” will address impact investment strategies that allow for implementation of disruptive solutions in the areas of sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, affordable housing, healthcare, and education. Top executives like Peter Triggs, Managing Director of DBS, Marc Lansonneur, Head of Manager Solutions and Investment Governance, DBS, Robert Kraybill, Managing Director of Impact Investment Exchange Asia (IIX), Steve Leonard, Founding CEO of SGInnovate, Brian Wilson, impact investor, Decentro Janutka, Founder of Decentro Media New Zealand, and Jenni Risku, Founder of Women in Tech Conference will share their insights with SIGEF global audience.

Last but not least will be the plenary on Future Energy, titled “Future Energy: Clean and Synchronized,” which will analyze renewable energy production standards and synchronized distribution. 印度巴帝电信穆迪评级下调 政府投资公司仍认购近10亿元股

彭博社在上周四揭示,新加坡政府投资公司(GIC)将认购印度巴帝电信500亿卢比(约9.72亿新元)的附加股。 一周前,巴帝电信宣布将透过发售附加股和永久债券,筹集3200亿卢比(62亿新元)的资金,以协助该公司减轻总值约210亿新元的债务。目前,该公司市值为250亿元。 目前,新电信(Singtel)是巴帝电信最大股东,持股达39.5巴仙。不过她决定部分股权由GIC认购。为此,新电信持股将减至35.2巴仙,但仍是最大股东。 而GIC首次投资巴帝电信,将持股4.4巴仙。 新电信在2000年首次买入巴帝电信的股权。过去12个月,新电信已在投资约9亿新元于巴帝集团,包括投资2亿5000万美元于非洲巴帝电信。 从2016年8月至2018年2月,新电信则积极增加在巴帝电信的股份,从33巴仙增至29.5巴仙。 有分析指,新电信减持可能是对巴帝电信透过举债来增加资金的举动,持保留态度。 穆迪首次下调评级 有鉴于巴帝电信因陷入新电信业者Reliance Jio的削价战,持续损及其盈利,穆迪长期债务评级,首次调低巴帝电信的投资级别评级,从Baa3降至Ba1,即:“有投机成分,有相当风险”。 在该评级中,Baa评级属中级,意味证程度一般。利息支付和本金安全现在有保证,但在相当长远的一些时间内具有不可靠性。缺乏优良的投资品质。 如果Ba级则具有投机性质,意味有关企业不能保证将来的良好状况。还本付息的保证有限,一旦经济情况发生变化,还本付息能力将削弱。具有不稳定的特征。…

【乌节豪杰大厦命案】将沾有血迹衣服丢弃 27岁被告被监五个月

乌节豪杰大厦(Orchard  Tower)命案被告之一卢文聪,涉嫌把凶手陈显扬带有血迹的T恤丢弃,有妨碍司法公正之嫌,被判五个月监禁。 27岁卢文聪原是乌节豪杰大厦命案的七名被控谋杀的被告之一,然而其谋杀指控被减控,改为在公共场所持有攻击性武器,以及同持有攻击性武器的人。 此外,他因妨碍司法公正,以及一项与赌博有关的罪行,被罚款1千元。而他也于去年12月14日,就妨碍司法公正控状认罪。 2019年7月2日,死者沙迪斯疑似与人在夜店起冲突,被人一刀割喉后负伤倒地,送院抢救无效。警方于12小时内将七人逮捕归案。 根据案情显示,当时卢文聪并没有加入乌节豪杰大厦命案,他和其他人在案发后匆匆离开乌节大厦,在离开案发现场时,他在上车前看见沙迪斯脸上有血,走了好几步路后才倒下。 而卢文聪则立即和其余三人搭上德士离开,随行者包括陈显扬。 随后,卢文聪和陈显扬来到了文礼巴刹,而当时陈显扬身上还持有凶器,而陈显扬则要求卢文聪让他到卢文聪家中洗浴,再搭乘另辆德士离开来到了卢文聪家中。 在陈显扬洗澡后,向卢文聪讨了一件新衣,而卢文聪当时发现陈显扬衣服上有血迹,立即为他递上一条干净的衣服换上。 离开卢文聪家前,陈显扬向卢文聪借了50元和一双拖鞋搭车,卢文聪也答应。在陈显扬离开后,卢文聪开始检查家中是否留有凶器,但却发现沾有血迹的白色T恤遗留在房内。 卢文聪得知这是相当重要的证据,于是将衣服丢弃在走廊外的公用垃圾桶。同天,卢文聪被警方逮捕,最终警方也没能找回沾有血迹的衣服。 目前仅被告陈显扬被控谋杀罪,其余六名被告已陆续被减控,包括陈洪成、陈家兴、卢文聪,改为在公共场所持有攻击性武器,以及同持有攻击性武器的人;陈云胜、洪大源与萧玉珍则被指共谋蓄意伤人,部分已被判刑。…
