Marking a significant milestone for the two companies, Starbucks and Alibaba are coming together to create a ‘seamless Starbucks Experience’. In this partnership, Starbucks is aiming to collaborate across key businesses within the Alibaba ecosystem, including Ele.me, Hema, Tmall, Taobao, and Alipay, to elevate the Starbuck experience for Chinese customers.

As part of the collaboration, Starbuck is leveraling on Ele.me’s on-demand platform to pilot dilvery services in Beijing and Shanghai in September 2018. The delivery program, if successful, will them be expanded across 30 cities to more than 2,000 stores by the end of 2018.

With hema supermarkets, Starbucks is attempting to create “Starbuck Delivery Kitchens” that are specifically designed for Starbucks delivery order fulfilment which will further expand their delivery capabilities while ensuring the highest levels of customer experience.

Together, Alibaba and Starbucks wants to create a virtual Starbucks store that will integrate multiple platforms across the Starbucks and Alibaba ecosystems to enable a more personalised experience for members to register, redeem benefits, and enjoy an extensive range of services.
