A war relic found at a construction site along Woodlands Road was detonated by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) on Sunday (29 July).

In a Facebook post on Monday, SAF shared that an Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was found at the construction site.

According to the forces, the SAF Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was activated at 11 am and upon reaching the site along Woodlands Road, assessed the UXO to be a 15 cm high-explosive projectile.

The object was then safely disposed by SAF EOD team at approximately 9 pm on site.

In light of the incident, Singapore Police Force (SPF) closed both directions of Mandai Road (between Mandai Quarry and Mandai Link) for detonation of war relic on Sunday from 8pm to 9pm.

Traffic Police (TP) officers were present on scene to direct motorists and public was advised to avoid the area.
