The gas tariff for households will be increased by 3.78 percent or 0.70 cent per kilowatt hour (kWh), from 18.53 cents per kWh to 19.23 cents per kWh for the period 1 August 2018 to 31 October 2018.

This is announced by City Gas Pte Ltd, as Trustee of City Gas Trust, on Thursday (26 July), saying that raise is due to an increase in fuel costs compared with the previous quarter.

This will be the third time that the gas tariff has increased this year.

City Gas, which supplies town gas to nearly 90 percent of residents in new housing board estates and private properties, said that the reviews on gas tariffs are based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA), the gas industry regulator and stated that the revised gas tariffs below have been approved by  Energy Market Authority:
