SP Group has announced that electricity tariffs will increase by an average of 6.3% or 1.26 cents per kWh for the period from 1 January to 31 March 2018 compared to the previous quarter.
It said that the tariff increase is due to the higher cost of natural gas for electricity generation, which increased by 14%
compared to the previous quarter.
For households, SP Group said that the electricity tariff will increase from 20.30 to 21.56 cents per kWh for 1 January to
31 March 2018.
The average monthly electricity bill for families living in four-room HDB flats will increase by $4.78.
