A train delay happened again early this morning (25 October) on the North South Line (NSL).

At 5:00 SMRT tweeted, due to a track fault, for commuters to add 20mins train travel time from Yishun to Toa Payoh South bound service:

At 5:54 it updated that due to the track fault, trains to city will travel slower between Ang Mo Kio & Bishan; free bus and bridging bus services were available:

Two minutes later, it added that commuters can travel via Jurong East and take East-West Line to the city:

At 8:05 SMRT again informed on its tweet that 10mins addition for train travel time from Yishun to Toa Payoh was needed; free bus & bridging bus services were still available:

Although there were some complains on this delay, amazingly the tweets from commuters were not as many as usual.

It could be because SMRT has informed the delay so early before the commuters started their journey so they could seek for alternatives, or maybe they have already anticipated the delay due to yesterday’s delay on East West Line and many other delays that had already happened on NSL.

Some of the commuters tweets:

There was also a complain that the trains were so slow on East West Line:

And finally, more than five hours later since its first tweet, at 10:13 SMRT informed that the fault was cleared, train services from Yishun to Toa Payoh have resumed; free bus and bridging bus services have ended:
