A fire broke out on Tuesday (16 May) about 4:30pm at the opposite 17 Punggol Field Walk, engulfing a 30m by 50m construction site.
SCDF extinguished the fire by using 4 water jets at approximately 5.30pm. Officers from the SCDF elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) conducted a height rescue operation to bring 2 workers, who were trapped in a gondola.
They were subsequently conveyed to Changi General Hospital for observation for smoke inhalation.

SCDF said at 5:31 that the fire was under control and damping down operations was in progress. Cause of fire was under investigation.
No one else was hurt but officers from the SCDF’s DART who had to rappel down the half-completed building of the Global Indian International School to bring the two men to safety.
Eyewitnesses told that they were stranded when the fire broke out on the Hon Industries’ worksite and cut the electricity to the gondola off.
Another fire has also broken out at Changi Airport Terminal 2 at 5.43pm yesterday causing the entire terminal to be shut down for almost five hours and many flights delayed. Changi Airport Group said just before midnight, about 40 flights were affected, in several cases, the delays stretched to three hours or more.
“On 16 May 2017 at 5.43pm, the Police were alerted to a case of fire at the departure hall of Changi Airport Terminal 2. The Police and SCDF are managing the incident,” SCDF informed on Facebook.
At 6:04pm SCDF updated that 3 persons have been conveyed to hospital for smoke inhalation.
