Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has announced that a body of a 12-year-old boy who was reportedly missing on Monday (8 May) at 12.25 pm at East Coast Beach has been found.
According to Channel News Asia, the boy was a student from Jurongville Secondary School.
At around 1.30 pm, SCDF wrote a post on its Facebook page, saying that it was alerted to an incident off East Coast beach around 12:25 pm where one person was reported missing and the search operation was ongoing.
At around 3.33 pm, SCDF wrote another post, stating that the missing body has been found by SCDF Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) rescuers.
“Our condolences to the family,” it stated.
According to The Straits Times, the search was conducted along a stretch of beach at East Coast Park’s area E near Bedok Jetty.
SCDF dispatched an ambulance, two fire engines, and a Red Rhino to support the search, as well several police cars.
Police are investigating the case of unnatural death.
