The Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) will officially be Compass One’s beneficiary, a statement from the mall officially confirmed today.
The mall will work with SAVH to provide free massages to shoppers. A first for the mall, SAVH was chosen because a similar charity event was done in 2015 – where many shoppers gave good feedback and they gave generously too. It’s with this in mind that Compass One has adopted SAVH as its official charity and will work on fund-raising projects throughout the year to raise awareness and funds for the Association.
Compass One’s General Manager, Ms Sharon Tan said, “Many of us cannot imagine what it is like to lose our sense of sight. The visually handicapped members of the association are heroes in their own ways, often overcoming daily challenges without their sight. Our pledge to be “Friends of the Blind” extends beyond a monetary contribution — we aim to raise awareness of both the association’s works and the members’ daily challenges. Through joint activities, we hope to create meaningful experiences for everyone who shops at Compass One. ”

Relax at Compass One

In conjunction with Mother’s Day, Compass One has organised a line-up of meaningful activities and exciting games. For the shopping mall, it is not just about shopping for gifts, but doing good and contributing to society as well.
Free Caring Hands Massage, 1 – 14 May 2017
From 1 to 14 May, shoppers who spend a minimum of S$30 in a single receipt will enjoy a 15-minute back massage from SAVH’s talented masseurs. On weekdays, this will be applicable for the first 48
shoppers and on weekends, this will be applicable for the first 96 shoppers.
For every shopper who redeems the massage, Compass One will donate S$5, which will go to SAVH’s Vision Rehabilitation Programme. This Vision Rehabilitation Programme aims to improve the quality of life of its visually handicapped clients through specialised self-help services, which in turn, raise their self-esteem and grow their self-reliance to cope with integration into society.
The mall has also teamed up with its tenants, Sakae Sushi and CRAVE, to provide the SAVH masseurs with meals during the two-week event. Sakae Sushi offers delicious Japanese classics while CRAVE doles out the famous Selera Rasa’s nasi lemak and famous teh tarik from Rafee’s Corner.
