An accident involving a motorcycle and a tipper truck along Upper Thomson Road on Tuesday (2 May) morning has claimed the life of a 27-year-old motorcyclist.
According to The Straits Times, the motorcyclist is believed to have lost control of his vehicle and fell. The tipper truck then ran over him.
Singapore Civil Defence Force stated that an ambulance was dispatched to the scene. Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
The police was alerted to the accident at the junction of Upper Thomson Road and Jalan Todak at around 7.47am.
A video was posted by Singapore Uncensored showing the scene after the incident.
The victim’s body could be seen covered in a white cloth. There were also traffic police officers around the scene.
Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced on its Twitter account at 8.05am informing the public about the accident.

A moment later, it tweeted that the accident has caused a congestion until SLE.

It then tweeted that the congestion has reached Yio Chu Kang Road.

Around two hours after the incident, LTA then tweeted that the congestion occurred until Sin Ming Avenue.
