A vehicle scrapyard near Teban Gardens caught fire on Wednesday afternoon (19 Apr).
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at 1 Penjuru Road at about 2.15pm, and SCDF sent two fire engines, two fire bikes, two Red Rhinos, and a support vehicle to the scene.
According to Channel NewsAsia, the fire was at a vehicle scrapyard, and two cars and two industrial containers were believed to have caught fire. SCDF’s firefighters put out the fire using two water jets. The blaze sent thick plumes of smoke into the air, as seen in an online video posted video by Mohamed Siddiq.
SCDF said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Public transport operator SBS Transit informed the public on Twitter at around 12:25pm that two bus services, 154 and 30, would skip stops along Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, Penjuru Road and West Coast Road due to the fire.
At 5:03pm, SBS Transit announced that  Penjuru Road has reopened and bus services number 30 and 154 has resumed.
