Car smashed by trailer along PIE, driver escaped with minor injuries

An accident occurred along the Pan-Island Expressway (towards Tuas) where a car was smashed by a trailer on Wednesday (19 April) at around 3 pm.
It is known that the 45-year-old driver escaped with minor injuries and was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

According to The Straits Times, the trailer had been travelling on the extreme left lane of the tunnel when the car in front slowed abruptly. The driver of the trailer was unable to brake in time, forcing the driver to swerve to the right and ending up colliding with the victim’s car.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) dispatched a fire engine, a Red Rhino, an ambulance and a support vehicle to the scene.
Singapore Police Force (SPF) stated that no arrests have been made from this incident and investigations are ongoing.
