Woodleigh MRT Station on the North-East Line (NEL) is temporarily closed due to a security incident this afternoon (18 April).
SBS Transit, the operator for the line, tweeted at 1.49 pm that NE11 Woodleigh station was closed due to a security incident. It noted that free bus rides are available at bus stops between Serangoon and Potong Pasir Stations.

The police also posted on its Facebook and Twitter account.
On its first post, it advised members of the public to avoid the area.

The police stated that they are at the scene with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers and that the station is temporarily closed.

A moment later, the police noted that it has found suspicious substance at the stations and that they are, along with SCDF officers, managing the incident.

The police also advised members of the public to not speculate on the incident.
“More updates will be provided when available,” it wrote.
