Early this morning, Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) announced on its Twitter account that the East-West Line (EWL) is experiencing delay due to a platform screen door fault.
For its first tweet at around 9.30 am, it asked commuters to add 10 minutes of additional travelling time from Bugis to Tanah Merah towards Pasir Ris.

Around 15 minutes later, commuters were asked to add 15 minutes of additional travelling time.

A moment later, SMRT asked commuters to cater 10 minutes of additional travelling time and that it is recovering the service.

Many netizens took it to the social media to complain. Some of them had already complained about the delay before SMRT’s first announcement was made.
Many of them also complained that the delay was much longer than the announcement, saying that they have been waiting for at least 30 minutes.
