Emirates A380 and Scoot 787 collided in Singapore Changi at around 2am on 30 March. Scoot’s 303 passengers and 11 crew are safe and they were moved to a replacement aircraft for a rescheduled flight at around 6am.
A Scoot spokesperson said flight TZ188, bound for Tianjin, China, was taxiing for take-off when a wing of the aircraft made contact with that of an Emirates aircraft.
“We are working with the relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the incident,” she said.
A spokesperson for Emirates, who was bound for Dubai, said that the plane was slightly damaged and need repairs. All its passengers of the Emirates flight, EK405, are also safe and have been rebooked on other Emirates flights scheduled to depart later on Thursday.
And she said, “Emirates apologises for any inconvenience caused. However, the safety of our passengers and crew is of utmost importance.”
Airline Hub Buzz posted a couple of photos on its Facebook.
Changi Airport Group (CAG) also confirmed that the incident took place and said the airport is working with authorities to investigate the incident.
