A 32-year-old trailer truck driver has been arrested by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) for dangerous driving.
According to The Straits Times, the Traffic Police received a call that a trailer truck was being driven dangerously against the flow of traffic along East Coast Parkway (ECP) towards Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE).
The truck, which belongs to RIO Logistics (S) Pte Ltd, was caught on camera in a video posted by Beh Chia Lor on Friday morning (17 March). The video showed the truck making a U-turn and causing a line of cars to stop as it had blocked almost the entire width of the expressway.
In a news release Friday, police confirmed they had established the identity of the male driver through follow-up investigations and he had been arrested.
Under the current law, motorists convicted of Dangerous Driving would lose their driving licences and were liable to be fined up to $3,000 or be jailed for up to one year, or both. In the case of a second or subsequent conviction, they would be fined up to $5,000 or jailed for up to two years, or both.
