Two cats were found dead in Yishun on Thursday (9 February) morning, in which one of them as slit on the throat and the other one was found with its stomach slit open.
The picture of the first cat with slit throat was posted by a Facebook user Fadilla AR who said that the dead cat was found by her cousin on a road divider near the Yishun MRT. She said that it was still unknown whether the cat was belong to a community or only a stray cat.
“The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) is on their way to investigate now,” she added by the time the post was written.
Yisshun 326 Tabby Cat also reposted the story of the cat, asking anyone with information to come forward.

While, pictures of the second cat with its stomach split open was posted by a group of volunteers Yishun 326 Tabby Cat who said that the community cat was found behind KTP Hospital.
“We plead all to keep a lookout for suspicious persons in the neighbourhood,” it initially said.
It also said that AVA was already at the scene with its caregiver.
“Please contact AVA or PM us if you have any information,” it added.
However, this morning, the page said that the death of the cats was caused by an attack by two stray dogs in the neighborhood as AVA was able to retrieve CCTV footage from the police by last evening.
“We are saddened by the frequent incidents of dogs attacking cats in our community. Rest in peace, Snowy. We will miss you terribly,” it wrote.
The incident happened despite the fact that the Police had installed more cameras in the area following the serial cat killing in the area back in late 2015 and the beginning of 2016, with at least 20 cats being abused or killed since September 2015.
Two men were arrested for allegedly causing unnecessary suffering to cats.
On 29 December 2015, a 41-year-old male who suffers moderate intellectual disability was sentenced to 18 months probation for abusing the cat, throwing it away from the 13th floor of a Housing Board block in Yishun.
About a month later, another 51-year-old man was also arrested for allegedly killing a pet cat.
However, some cases remain unsolved.
