The cyclist suffered head injuries and was taken to the National University Hospital, and he is reported to be in stable condition. His motorcycle caught fire immediately after the crash but the fire was put out by motorists who stopped to help using their own extinguishers.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it dispatched a fire engine and an ambulance to the scene and police said investigations are ongoing.
Hundreds of netizens were outraged by the behavior of the car driver, here’s some of their opinions:

  • Jonathan Sim To the culprit if you are viewing this video.. for your own good, just go surrender. You can’t run in Singapore.. and no depression excuse please.
  • Quek Mong Seng Obvious drunk driving! You mean you cannot see the two motorcyclist in front of you? This idiot must be put behind bars! Hope the motorcyclist is doing well….
  • Jerry Tan I really hate these type of drivers. In fact, I was a victim of such accidents. I was the pillion rider to my father’s ride and we were hit by a car which beat the traffic light and the driver drove away without rendering any assistance. Fortunately, I was able to escape unscathed but my father has been wheelchair bound since. I really hope that these drivers will burn in ….
  • Dzar Ismail To the culprit. We will find you. We will put you behind bars. You have just screwed your life big time. I am a rider. I despise things like this. You need to be removed from society.
  • Ishida Uryū Personally, I don’t think it’s an accident thus unintentional is not the correct word. It should be attempted murder!!!
  • 陈机米 The current traffic laws is outdated against these kind of killer drivers. I remember the fine of killing people with a car is less than $5000. Such laws must change.
  • John Tay This kind of driver must be taken off the road for the safety of other motorists and motorcyclists. He should be given 12 years imprisonment plus 6 strokes of the rattan and his driver’s license revoked permanently.
  • Adagio Toky Hope that rider is ok, to the killer how nice to see your “lang pang” Honda JDM had become junk metal and the “lang pang” driver are going to jail soon. Some more GT Wing… You think your “lang pang” JDM really can fly ah…
