Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, for their suspected involvement in a series of theft cases at a fitness center in Tampines.
On 19 September 2016, the police received a report from a 27-year-old victim who lost her wallet containing S$150 cash and her hand phone valued at S$700 which had been kept inside a gym locker at a fitness center.
Upon receipt of the report, police officers from Bedok Division conducted follow-up investigations. The identities of the suspects were finally established and the police then arrested both suspects on 23 January 2017.
Preliminary investigations also revealed that the suspects are believed to be involved in similar cases reported in the same fitness center.
If convicted, both of them could be sentenced with imprisonment for a term up to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
Investigations are still ongoing, the police said in its press release.
