Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has issued a statement that expresses Singapore’s condolences towards Indonesia for its recent earthquake that struck Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh on 7 December 2016 at 5.06am.

“Singapore is shocked by the tragic loss of lives and serious damage caused by the earthquake that struck Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh on 7 December 2016.  The Government of Singapore expresses our deepest condolences to the Government of Indonesia and the families of the victims in this time of grief.” MFA wrote.

The Ministry also said that it is in touch with the local authorities and Singapore stands ready to assist if required.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo to offer their condolences over the disaster, saying that they are saddened by the incident.

On behalf of the government of Singapore, I express my heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. Singapore stands ready to assist Indonesia in whatever way we can.

针对网传榜鹅S11客工宿舍(也称PPT Lodge 1B),有客工闹跳楼事件,人力部今日(23日)中午作出回应,经调查获悉有关客工是自掏腰包买回乡机票,但是当得知雇主不愿协助他回国后,感到情绪激动。 上述客工所住的宿舍楼层,在本月4日已结束排查冠病。人力部称,客工若有意回国,可与雇主讨论,但相信双方没有讨论沟通,结果起争执。 当事件发生,前线保障支援小组(FAST)团队也立即介入,到场安抚有关客工情绪,并联系他的雇主以解决纠纷。至于雇主后来经过劝说,也同意协助其客工,在今日返国。 人力部则在文告中劝谕,客工若有劳资纠纷应避免让自己危害自身性命安全,鼓励客工拨打客工中心热线 6536 2692,或向人力部反馈。

本地男子惊见自家地址 被五名外籍人士冒用

和外籍人士“共享”住址?一名本地男子在查阅人力部官网后,惊讶发现,自己的住家地址,疑被五名外籍人士冒用为本地注册住址。 这名名为鲁再迪(Ruzaidie Dar Surnik )的男子在本月18日,于脸书分享自己的遭遇。他是受到邻居提醒,许多住户曾面对地址被客工冒用的问题,住户要到人力部官网查核,避免自己在不知情情况下住址被冒用。 不过这一查之下,可把鲁再迪吓坏了,发现在官网中显示,有五名来自不同公司,疑是中国籍的客工使用鲁再迪的住家地址,作为居留本地注册地址。 不管是谁,若个人资料,特别是住家地址若被他人冒用,肯定感到不安。鲁再迪就表示,如果有人心怀不轨,例如盗用地址去跟大耳窿借钱、或者做不法勾当,到时警察找上他家该怎么办? 鲁再迪告诉本社,在发现此事后他立即向人力部反映,也表达他的忧虑。对此人力部回应严正看待此事,并会调查和严惩那些提供假个资的人士。同时也会标注鲁再迪的住址,曾被注册为客工的住址。 “登记客工时应向住户求证” 鲁再迪向本社反映,他希望人力部能正视这些问题,在登记客工资料的程序也要加强管制,例如若有住址被客工拿来注册,应先向住户发出通知求证。 鲁再迪也致函这些客工的雇主,反映问题。其中两家公司则回函鲁再迪表示他们会调查有关客工。 至于人力部的官网,也有提供住户查询的线上服务,核实和更新持工作准证者租用住家的情况,若客工已搬走可更新资讯,或反映有无住址被冒用的问题。 鲁再迪也在脸书留言中,和网民讨论,指当中可能有漏洞,或者缺乏监督审核机制,致使一些人士得以任意使用他人住址注册。
