A 38-year-old woman suspected for her involvement in multiple cheating cases, has been arrested by the Police.

Several victims from travel agencies reported to the Police in November, saying that they were cheated by a woman who had purchased large numbers of Universal Studios, Zoo, Adventure Cove and Sea Aquarium tickets.

Police stated in its press release that the suspect had convinced the victims to release the tickets to her by informing that she had scheduled bank transfers for the payments of tickets to them.

However, the victims did not receive the payments and could not locate the suspect thereafter.

Responding to the reports, police officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and arrested the suspect on 1 December. The location of her arrest was not disclosed.

The suspect will be brought to Court on 3 December 2016, with the charge of cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.

If found guilty, the suspect could be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend up to 10 years, and she also could be fined.
