A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman was found unconscious yesterday morning (30 Nov) at Chong Pang camp, at the foot of a building, a press release from the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said last night.
Three medics arrived on site at 11.26 am and commenced resuscitation immediately and then the serviceman was brought to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) at 11.36 am and arrived at 11.43 am, by an SAF ambulance.
An SAF Medical Officer continued to resuscitate him en route to the hospital, but the serviceman was pronounced dead at 11.50 am at KTPH, Mindef wrote in its statement.
The reason of the death was still undecided and Mindef said that a police investigation will be conducted.
The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman and it is assisting the family in their time of grief, the press release said.
