Subsequently, SMRT said that it still needed 10 minutes additional travelling time as they were working to recover service.

Around one hour after the first tweet, SMRT said that the issue had been cleared and the service has resumed.

Although SMRT tweeted at around 9.30am about the delay, it would appear that the disruption in service had taken place much earlier in the morning as commuters had complained about the crowd and delay before the announcement was made.
