The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced that the Central Business District (CBD) commuters will be able to take two new City Direct Services (CDS) from October and November 2016 respectively.

These two services, which both will be operated by Rui Feng Chartered Pte Ltd, will bring the total number of CDS to 22.

LTA said that the existing CDS 651, which has been re-tendered and awarded to Rui Feng Chartered Pte Ltd after the previous contract expired in August 2016, will continue to serve Jurong West. Its route and operational details will remain unchanged.

It also added that 18 additional trips have been added to nine of the services due to the popularity of the 20 existing CDS. The average ridership per trip for all CDS is about 40 to 50 commuters. For example, since its introduction, 3 additional trips have been progressively added to CDS 652 in the morning.
