According to Channel News Asia, pub owner Bjorn Seegers have stated that the fire was caused by deep fryer. He said, ” The incident was reported to the SCDF by the staff. They all followed protocol and the fire was put out within 20 minutes. All was contained pretty quickly.”
Despite the fact that the damage was minimal, the pub still has to follow some procedures, such as getting licensed electrical workers to carry out a check.
The kitchen will run as usual but no food will be served because the kitchen will be closed for renovation.
