Police announced said on July 17 that a 32-year-old woman has been arrested for the unauthorised use of another person’s credit card.

An unauthorized credit card transactions from the victim’s card on various online sales platforms was reported to the police on April 13, 2016.

Following the report, the officers from the Tanglin Division conducted investigations and successfully established the identity of a female suspect.

The suspect then was arrested on July 5.

The suspect will be charged in court for the offences of Dishonest Misappropriation of Property and Unauthorised Access to Computer Material on July 19, 2016.

Any person convicted for Dishonest Misappropriation of Property may face a jail term of up to two years, with fine, or with both.

And any person convicted for Unauthorised Access to Computer Material may be fined up to $5,000 or jailed for a term up to two years, or both.

Those convicted for the second time or more may face a fine of up to $10,000 or jailed for up to three years, or both.

Unauthorised credit card transactions were found to have been made on various online sales platforms.
