The campaigning team from Singapore Democratic Party, including Dr Paul Tambyah, had a chance encounter with Dr Tan Cheng Bock, a presidential candidate in 2011, while on its walkabout on Saturday morning.
Dr Tan wished Dr Paul all the best for the upcoming elections. Dr Tan knew Dr Paul’s father as he was Dr Tan’s houseman many years ago.
Dr Paul Ananth Tambyah is currently a Professor with tenure at the National University of Singapore where he is an expert in infectious diseases at the Department of Medicine.
No information has been said of which GRC or SMC, Dr Paul would be contesting for the upcoming election.
