On Friday, more than one train stuck due to power fault at Sengkang LRT West Loop (8 May).

According to hear-say from local residents, passengers were detrained from the train which was stuck on the tracks. There was also a mention of stuck train at Layar platform.

The service disruption lasted at least 3 hours, started at around 5pm.

SBS Transit only allowed free boarding of passing by buses from Sengkang, but did not activate additional shuttle buses. Some new estates in Sengkang do not have local bus feeder services, so “passing by” buses do not pass by their homes.

2 weeks ago, there was also a power fault that affected SK-LRT East Loop (20 April). SBST spokesperson said they are investigating the incident but no findings published to date.
