The Prime Minister Office has just released its statement about former Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew.
Mr Lee is said to be still warded in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Singapore General Hospital after being admitted to the hospital on 5 February 2015 for severe pneumonia.
He remains sedated and on mechanical ventilation. His doctors have restarted him on antibiotics, and are continuing to monitor him closely.
Yesterday, rumors of his passing were spreading among the people which led to media seeking clarifications from government authorities. Media outlets then reported that rumors were untrue based on what the authorities had said.
Born on 16 September 1923, Mr Lee is 91 years old as of date.
