Local radio DJ, Mark van Cuylenburg or commonly known as The Flying Dutchman (FD) will be leaving MediaCorp after 18 years in his job.
The host of MediaCorp’s Gold 90.5FM ‘The Gold Breakfast Show’ broke the news this morning about his intent to pursue his own interests.
“It’s been an incredible 18 years but life is about evolving, it’s about change and change has to be embraced.  It’s very exciting,” said Mr van Cuylenburg.
FD had started his career with Mediacorp Radio, the then Radio Corporation Singapore in December 1996.
According to a Channel News Asia report, 18-years radio veteran will be hosting ‘The Gold Breakfast Show’ for the last time on Wednesday.
“It’s been an incredible 18 years but life is about evolving, it’s about change and change has to be embraced,” FD said.
A year ago, FD went with The Morning Express for Gold 90.5FM after hosting Class 95FM’s for the last 10 years with co-presenter Glenn Ong.
Said Ms Erina Cook, Assistant Vice President of Gold 90.5FM, Radio, MediaCorp: “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mark since he joined Class 95FM in 1996. He has connected well with listeners and he willingly shares his experiences and ideas with colleagues. I wish him a good break.”
Vernetta Lopez, who was also formerly from The Morning Express and currently co-presenting with FD on The Gold Breakfast Show, will helm the show solo.
