Possible WP candidate makes public appearance?
Media reported that Mr Leon Perera, chief executive of Spire Research and Consulting, was out with Workers’ Party volunteers and members handing out food rations and daily necessities to elderly residents in the Paya Lebar division. Some “experts” have described this as a tit-for-tat response to what the People’s Action Party has done. It is not known if Mr Perera, 44, plans to run in the next general elections.

Cost of gas to go up
City Gas plans to increase the price of town gas by 0.3 per cent from next month until the end of July. This means that gas for households serviced by City Gas, which consists of almost 90 per cent of residents living in new Housing Development Board estates and private properties, will go up from 21.01 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) to 21.08 cents per kWh. Media also reported that gas prices were lowered by 0.8 per cent in February to April.
