Press Release from evam Arts Pte. Ltd
1927228_10152223541531070_2019496044_nSouth India’s funniest stand-up show, ‘evam Stand-up Tamasha’, returns to Singapore this April. It is the stand-up repertory from evam Arts Pvt. Ltd. With over 200 public and private shows over the past 3 years across India and Singapore, the show is once again set to take Singapore by storm. .
On April 4, 5 & 6, Stand-up Tamasha will bring to Singapore its super hit comedy show, “Donkey Dies, Father Cries”. As random as the name suggests, the show features rib-tickling new content featuring Karthik Kumar, S Aravind, Aswin Rao and Naveen Richard. Proving that funny stories can go beyond a chat among friends, these seasoned artists will be narrating tall tales ranging school life, Indian film motifs, social media fads and the urban myth that babies are fun.
“Laugh Riot” – The Hindu
“Goofy fun” – NDTV
“Hilarious … Simply Superb” – The Kentridge Common, Singapore
“Brilliant would be a mighty understatement …” – Pravasi Express, Singapore
“Fresh new content … “ – Fuchsia, Singapore
Karthik Kumar: World Peace exponent, animal-lover, compulsive theorist, always in love, failed at the CAT and is in denial, and thinks he is Hercule Poirot! World famous for his research on pets, he now attempts to dissect whether or not having babies is really the best way for the human species to pass on its legacy.
Naveen Richard: Naveen is still stuck in the 70’s, drives his dad’s car and wears bellbottoms – no wonder he has issues with modern times! Fortunately for him, Films haven’t changed that much in the past 100 years and he can’t wait to make some fun of the largest film industry in the world.
Aswin Rao: Widely known as the guy who swallowed a Motor Boat, this fast talking man strongly believes he is the epitome of human evolution. Of course he has some issues with his elder brother being an inch better than him in everything. He has some issues with social media and can’t wait to share them.
S Aravind: 26 year old Aravind has been single for a really long time. About 26 years to be precise. This leads to a truck load of angst against everything in the world. His performance is a non-stop rant on how he was born perfect, but his school life messed him up.

A completely original evam show – this Indian urban perspective is meant to tickle your funny bone and create post-show debates.
Featuring performances from our resident performers – Karthik Kumar, Aswin Rao, S Aravind and Naveen Richard.
Quoting the director, Sunil Vishnu K. – ‘’The Show is our way of creating a stage platform where we all get to vent …oops…share our urban stories – tall tales from the top of our head.. of the urban, by the urban, for the urban, stories set in urban reality… told from the heart and with a sense of humour- all in all an evening of angst and soul served right up your alley! Slice of life urban stories meets sensitivity meets evam, to create STANDUP TAMASHA!’
