A desperate mother seeks her lost son to sell flat.

By Terry Xu

Seeking a Chinese Male by the name of Yong Fook Cheong whose birthday is on 13 November.

A lady by the name of Madam Ng Moey Kwan wrote in to us through a relative to seek help to look for her son,

mdmngI am Madam Ng, 73 years old, my relative is writing in English for me.

I am old now and cannot work much longer. No work coming in at foot massage parlor. I cannot repair the fridge, I cannot repair the toilet.

I cannot sell the flat. If I can sell the flat, at least I don’t have to worry about paying the bills.

It’s more than 10 years since my eldest son Yong Fook Cheong disappeared.

Even if he is ashamed for not being in contact for so long, please let him know that I need his signature to sign so I can sell the flat that I have been paying for all these years. I am old now, I don’t need him to support me, I don’t care if he is happy not to be in touch, I just need to sell the flat so I can live without worry.

In a few days time, it will be his birthday, 13 november. I hope he will be kind enough to help me release my flat. He does not need to thank me for giving birth to him, I don’t need anything from him, but because last time the rules of HDB must be family unit, then I put his name in with mine to get a flat. Sorry to trouble him, he does not have to call me his mother even.

My relative help me put facebook up, we see there is a Yong Fook Cheong, but no picture of the owner is visible. I am also nervous in case it is him, he lead happy carefree life. I am heart broken and nothing to live on. I am writing my story on Facebook. I don’t know how else to look for help.

HDB cannot help, MND cannot help, MP cannot help, lawyers cannot help, who can?

Please help me spread the news to see if he is willing to contact you.”

Her relative also helped her to create a facebook page to tell her story as they are helpless in their situation. Facebook account of Madam Ng

If you know him or his whereabouts, please contact us or ask him to write in to us at [email protected].

I have agreed to be the middleman to help liaise with Mr Yong for the mother as he might be unwilling to meet her.

Why not ask the authorities?

The relative wrote – “We tried to go to ICA and MFA to see if they will reveal if missing son has renewed passport at all, but no information given, not even to the aged mother.”
