The Chevening Scholarships are funded by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

Known previously in Singapore as the Raffles Scholarships, the Chevening programme offers bond-free scholarships to promising young Singaporeans. Applicants must have not studied in the UK previously. Scholarships are usually awarded for one year postgraduate courses at any university of the Scholar's choice. Support range from small financial awards for those who have other Scholarships to more substantial amounts to those who do not.

Applications for study in the 2013/14 academic year will not open until the end of 2012.

Chevening Scholars 2012/2013
 
– Justin Keh is an Associate with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Justin was also the first Singaporean to receive a Mansion House Scholarship, which was presented to him by the Lord Mayor of London during his visit to Singapore in May 2012. He will be pursuing a Degree in Finance at Cambridge University.
 
– Karen Tay is currently the Head of the Department for the Centre for New Media, Ministry of Education. She will be pursuing a degree in Education at Cambridge University. Karen is also a recipient of a Ministry of Education of Scholarship.
 
– Kirsten Han is a film-maker and runs the popular blog-site 'funny little word'. She is also a contributor to The Huffington Post. She will be pursuing a degree in Journalism, Media and Communications at Cardiff University.
 
– Melanie Pennefather has worked as a Manager in the National Population and Talent Division of the Prime Minister's Office. She will be pursuing a course in Social Policy at the London School of Economics.
 
– Oh Wee Kee is the Acting Assistant Director of the National Environment Agency's Sustainability Office. She will be heading to the University of Edinburgh to study Ecological Economics. Wee Kee has also been awarded a NEA Scholarship. (not present in video)
 
– Sum Kun Shan is a Senior Analyst with the Energy Market Authority. She will be heading to Imperial College to pursue a degree in Sustainable Energy Futures.
