Citizen Journalism Training (23 & 24 June 2012)

This is a private event and by invitation exclusively for TOC volunteers. You need to RSVP to [email protected] to confirm your place. You can join us as a new volunteer today. 

This coming weekend (23 and 24 June 2012), The Online Citizen (TOC), MalaysiaKini, Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY) and EngageMedia will jointly host a FREE training workshop in Singapore for budding citizen journalists. The training workshop will be held at 21 Tan Quee Lan Street, #02-08 Heritage Place, S(188108).

In this 2 day workshop you will learn the basics and essentials of news writing, photography, and video production.

  • Basic Story Telling

  • Video Shooting Techniques
  • 5 Shot Technique
  • Planning and Shooting
  • 7 Rules of Video Making
  • Exercise
  • Video Editing Basic – Knowing Basic Video Formats & Softwares
  • Shots and Sizes
  • Arranging Footage on Timeline
  • Adding Narration
  • Adding Music
  • Exporting and Uploading

(A) Laptop (Min Requirements) 
  • Windows XP/2000                               
  • 50GB hard disk
  • 516MB RAM
 
(B) Video Camcorder or Digital Camera
 
Note: If you don't have a camcorder, please bring a digital camera with video capability.
 
If you would like to participate, please register ASAP because this workshop is limited to the first 30 participants (each session) on a first come first served basis.
